What is the difference between the Torero Athletic Fund and Sports Specific Giving Clubs?
The Torero Athletic Fund is the fundraising arm of University of San Diego Athletics. Sports specific giving clubs are under the umbrella of the TAF and will support the sport specific operating budgets and special initiatives.
How are gifts to the Torero Athletic Fund Used?
Gifts to the sports specific giving clubs are used for the sports operating budget and strategic initiatives by the head coach. Members can earmark donations to programs for specific items. (Ie. Gear, Travel, etc). Gifts to the Championship Investment Fund will be utilized for revenue sharing.
What are my Torero Athletic Fund Benefits?
Torero Athletic Fund benefits begin at the $100 level. Benefits vary by giving level in the fiscal calendar year (July 1 - June 30). In years past — teams provided their own benefits. Head Coaches may still provide sports specific benefits to their discretion. Please consult with your tax advisor on benefits and tax deductability.
Is my donation tax deductible?
Yes, your donation is 100% tax deductible if you choose to waive your Torero Athletic Fund benefits. Please consult with your tax advisor. USD Tax ID: 95-2544535
What is Revenue Sharing and the Championship Investment Fund ?
The "House v. NCAA" settlement, passed in June 2025 addresses antitrust claims against the NCAA and its Power Five conferences, leading to a $2.8 billion payment to former athletes and establishing a revenue-sharing model for student-athletes. The Championship Investment Fund allows alumni, donors, and friends of USD Athletics to support their favorite sport through revenue sharing.
What are my priority points and how can I use them?
Priority points are being introduced in the 2025-26 year to modernize and enhance our TAF’s members experience. Each member will receive points based on annual, consecutive, and lifetime giving along with season ticket purchases.
